Growth Model for Assessment Growth in student performance requires assessment of specified knowledge and/or skills over at least two points in time. Growth can be sought in a single skill such as creative, divergent thinking, the final product such as persuasive writing, or self-reflection and goal setting. Growth can be sought for the whole PST process. Two points in time could be a formative assessment and the final PST summative assessment. Two points could be a PST summative assessment in year X and another PST summative assessment in year Y. Eventually we plan to study student performance over many years through the sequence of PSTs during that time.
